Imagine sinking into a comfortable massage table surrounded by a circle of towering redwood trees on a hardwood deck in the quiet and stillness of the forest- this can be your body work experience at Hoopcamp! Each year a talented group of massage therapists (who are also hoopers) provide relaxing and rejuvenating massages in this sacred space.
After pushing the boundaries of your hoop movement, take the time to sink into the euphoria by adding a wonderful massage to your retreat.
It is recommended that you contact our therapists prior to arriving at Hoopcamp to secure your preferred massage time.
Hoopcamp Massage Therapists 2012
Ashley Scanlan
After working for years as a guide in adventure tourism, Ashley found that her own body needed some TLC and turned to yoga and massage. Feeling the great benefits of these practices she started on her path to healing body work. Ashley has a diverse set of therapies learned around the globe including Deep Tissue massage in California, Thai massage in Thailand, Oriental Medicine and Sports Therapy in British Columbia, Canada.

After her first experience at HoopCamp 2011, Ashley wanted to join the event and give something back to the hoop community in 2012. Since then, she has taken her hoops (purchased from the silent auction) to Ecuador, Galapagos Islands, Thailand and Bhutan and has spread the hoop love everywhere she goes! She is looking forward to helping you get that flow happening through your body so you can flow even better with your hoop!
Melinda Lundgren
It is an honor to offer support to this incredible community with the life-affirming gifts of massage. I have been a certified practitioner of the healing arts since 2008. My private practice reaches from my home in Santa Cruz to the San Francisco Bay area. My work is deep and gentle, intuitive, and aware. I adjust rhythm and pressure to meet you each moment right where you are. My sessions weave a tapestry of therapeutic magic, combining aroma therapy, Swedish massage, and the energy balancing modality of Polarity massage. Allow me to create a safe and loving space for you to fully relax and absorb healing, rejuvenating bodywork. I look forward to sharing this beautiful art form with you.

I first discovered hoop dancing when I wandered up to a hoop jam at the Santa Cruz lighthouse and saw all those funky people gettin down. Later I had the fortuitous pleasure of trading massages for hoop lessons, and that‚s when the bug jumped up and bit me. Ever since, I‚ôve been exploring the endless possibilities of my relationship with the hoop. When I'm not massaging or trying to master a new hoop move, I'm down in the dirt, farming fruit and vegetables in a way we can all smile about. Flowing from my love of movement and my passion for healthy, happy bodies, I'm thrilled to be part of 2012's Hoopcamp community!
