logo smallI am a new Hooper, will I be able to participate in all the workshops offered?
The workshops offered are suitable for multi-levels. If you are comfortable waist hooping you will be able to participate in the movement and new transition and trick based workshops offered this year. Challenge yourself to a full immersion in the hooping community and expand your movement while gaining new skills, new connections, new perspectives and a huge sense of hoop empowerment. Remember this is a go -at- your own pace event!

Will I be able to participate in all the workshops?
Hoopcamp is a go-at-your own pace hooping conference. You will be able to take most of the workshops offered and you will be able to choose specific workshops over others offered at the same time. Remember to take down time, enjoy the pool, get a massage and allow your weekend to flow at your own pace.

What are the Check-in and Check-out times?
Check-in at the Orchard Field starts at 1:00pm on Wed Sept. 26. and goes till 4:00pm. Please email us at hoopcampinfo@gmail.com in advance if you are not able to arrive during these times.
On Sunday, Sept. 30th you will need to have your camp site broken down and your bags packed before lunch. Check-out will begin after lunch and will run through the last workshop from 2:00-3:30pm. Everyone needs to be off the Pema Osel Ling Property by 4:30pm on Sunday.

montage9smileWhat do I need to pack?
Sunscreen, a swim suit, towel, personal toiletries, a reusable water bottle, a flashlight or headlamp, and hoops!
Optional: beverages and snacks of your choice, special foods or medication that you may need, cash to spend at the Hoopers Marketplace or on massage therapy, a camera.

What is the weather like in September?
The weather is typically in the 70's during the day and the 50's at night. Record highs/lows are in the 90s/50's. Rain is not typical, but if you are camping make sure to bring a rain fly. If you plan to come to the Lighthouse Hoop Jam in Santa Cruz, bring a layer. The coast can be foggy and cool.

I am camping - what should I bring?
Don't forget to pack: a headlamp or flashlight, sleeping bag, sleeping pad (optional), tent, pillow, water bottle, personal toiletries, a towel, swim suit. Insects are usually not a problem, but you can bring insect repellent if you are concerned. Warm socks to sleep in are nice when camping. Flip-flops are handy for trips to the shower and bathroom.

Please do NOT bring firewood or fuels.
Three meals, plus snacks and a cocktail hour are all included with your Hoopcamp registration.

I have indoor housing - what should I bring?
If you are staying in a Cabin or the Orchard House, your linens (sheets and towel) are provided. If you are staying in the Sangha House, linens are provided with the Single and Queen Beds. Sangha House Slumber Party people should bring their own sleeping bag, pillow, and towel.

Can I get a massage at Hoopcamp?
Yes, there will be two massage therapists offering massage in the Redwood Circle. Their information will be posted in the next few months on the hoopcamp website. You can sign up an dpay for the massages directly with the therapists at Hoopcamp or pre-arranging a time with them in advance.

Can I bring kids to Hoopcamp?
Unfortunately our program and our insurance policy are not designed to have small children participate in the event. Children 12 and older are welcome to participate with a parent at regular Hoopcamp package pricing.

Can I bring my non-hooping partner to Hoopcamp?
Space and resources are limited. We want to make as many spaces as possible available for people who are fully participating in Hoopcamp. We encourage you to purchase the off-site housing package and arrange your own accommodations if you are traveling with someone who is not participating in Hoopcamp. Due to our agreement with the venue and the nature of organizing a large event, we must charge for camping/housing and all meals for anyone who stays on site, whether they are participating in Hoopcamp or not. Please email us at hoopcampinfo@gmail.com if you have a special needs circumstance.

Can I bring my dog or pet to Hoopcamp?
Dogs are not allowed at the Hoopcamp event or on the Pema Osal Ling property. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO pets are allowed in your car if you are car camping. Please make arrangements to have your pet pampered while you are off having an amazing experience. Your pet will love you for it!

montage1groupCan I smoke at Hoopcamp?
There is a ZERO TOLORANCE SMOKING POLICY at Hoopcamp.
There is ONLY ONE spot on the road at the entrance to the property where you can smoke. We are staying at a very respected and highly sacred Tibetan Buddhist retreat center. While we are guests on their property we need to respect their shrine and customs. This includes Fire safety: No candles, no fire spinning fuels, no incense or campfires, NO EXCEPTIONS. NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND on the property.
Participants will be removed from the event without refund for smoking on property. If you can't refrain from smoking ( of any kind) at our event location and honoring their policies by smoking only in their designated area which is a small walk up and down a hill, then please do not attend Hoopcamp.

Can I attend Hoopcamp for just one or two days?
If you are only able to attend for one or two days, please email us at hoopcampinfo@gmail.com for our day rate availability.

Can I take private and semi-private workshops at Hoopcamp?
Yes, you will have the opportunity to take private workshops with the Roue Cyr instructor and the Lyra instructor, plus others. More information about pricing will be posted on the website.

Are there bathrooms for campers?
Yes. Shared bathrooms, hot showers and port-a-pottys are provided for all campers.

Can I bring an RV to Hoopcamp?
There are limited spaces for RV’s and car camping. Please email us first at hoopcampinfo@gmail.com before registering to confirm your RV space or car camping. Once you have confirmation you will need to register for the camping package.

How many hoops should I bring?
Bring your favorite hoop, the one you like to learn new moves with. Bring the hoop you love to rock out and flow with. If you use twins or minis, bring those too! If you don't want to travel with a hoop, we have rental hoops available. There will also be many hoops for sale at Hoopcamp.

Can I bring my fire hoop?
Do NOT bring fuels of ANY KIND with you to Hoopcamp. You can bring your fire hoop and other fire flow tools to the Lighthouse Hoopjam only.

You will be able to use your firehoop at the Lighthouse Hoop Jam in Santa Cruz, and fuel is available for purchase on the way to the Hoop Jam. You can buy Lamp Oil at the Home Depot at the Home Depot at the 41st ave exit. Turn right at the light and then into the Home Depot Parking lot (2600 41st Avenue, Soquel, CA). Do NOT bring fire-spinning fuels of ANY KIND with you to Hoopcamp.

montage4yogaWhen & Where is the Lighthouse Hoop Jam?
The Lighthouse Hoop and Fire Jam begins on Sunday, September 30th around 5:00 pm. It is located at 701 West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. There is parking nearby. The Hoop Jam is open to anyone who wants to attend.

Can Hoopcampers enter the Shrine?
You may enter the Shrine to meditate and you can participate respectfully in the morning pujas if they are being held. Inside the shrine please refrain from loud talk or extended conversations. Shoes must be taken off before entering the shrine. Please, NO HOOPING inside the shrine.

When and where can I get coffee?!
Coffee is include with breakfast. If you need a pick-me-up at other times of the day, we will have coffee and espresso drinks available for purchase from a coffee cart vendor. To limit the amount of garbage created, please bring your own water bottle and coffee mug.

What's for dinner?
The menu is primarily vegetarian food since we are at a Buddhist retreat center, but some meals do include chicken and fish dishes. We have designed the menu to have a large, hearty breakfast, a lighter lunch, and a delicious dinner. Vegan options will be available at all meals and we will do our best to accommodate any special dietary needs. (Make sure to fill out information on your needs on the registration form).

I have a very special and sensitive diet and need to bring additional food?
If you need to bring additional foods for your diet you will have access to a refrigerator and kitchen in the Sangha House which is close to all activities. We ask that you keep the area clean and that you limit your use to meal times only to respect the other participants staying in the Sangha House. We do not offer non-meal packages due to the set-up of the facility and the event. If you have a special circumstance that needs attention please email us at: hoopcampinfo@gmail.com

What about snacks?
Fresh fruit and other snacks will be available throughout the day and are included with your Hoopcamp registration. Chilled energy and sport drinks will be available for purchase.

What about Happy Hour?
A wine, beer and soft drinks reception will be held for 30 minutes before dinner. You are welcome to bring any additional beverages of your choice to enjoy at Hoopcamp. For safety, please use a plastic cup and don't carry glass around if you bring your own drinks.

What if I want to stay up late?
The late-night indoor lounge area with DJ music and your own shared ipod playlists will be open from 10pm until 4 am.

What if I want to get up early?
There will be a 6:30 am yoga session in the Redwood Circle. Bring a towel or mat with you if you have one.

Do you have work/trade opportunities?
Yes, we have a limited number of work/trade opportunities available for the Camping Package. We will be posting info on the website by the end of Feb. along with a Work/Trade application form. Applicants will be accepted until spaces are filled. You will be responsible for paying in full for your Camping Package with a cash stipend refunded to you upon your arrival at Hoopcamp.

Can I do split payments to purchase my tickets?
We are not set up to take split payments/down payments for Hoopcamp packages. Since we work with Paypal for payments, we suggest that you set up an account where you can transfer money into paypal specifically to be used for payment of your Hoopcamp package. Please send us an email at hoopcampinfo@gmail.com if you plan on saving for a ticket this way.

montage7lightsCan I cancel my ticket or give it to someone else?

HOOPCAMP TICKET REFUND POLICY
All Hoopcamp tickets are refundable less a processing fee of 10 percent of your full ticket price up until Sunday, August 26th. Refunds will be made by paypal only to the account that purchased the tickets.

ONE MONTH PRIOR TICKETS ARE NONREFUNDABLE.
After August 26th and up till and including the event, all tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.

ALL TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE
Your Hoopcamp tickets is non-transferable. A valid driver's license and your printed ticket receipt with bar code is REQUIRED at check-in. NO EXCEPTIONS.

TICKET TRANSFER REQUESTS ONLY!
From August 27th to Sept. 12th
Ticket transfers less a $75 processing fee can be REQUESTED ONLY from August 27th to Sept 12th. Transfers are not guaranteed and are handled on a case by case basis by emailing hoopcampinfo@gmail.com

Your ticket print out and a photo ID is required at Check-in. If for any reason you do not have your printed ticket your photo id is required. This policy is to maintain the quality and integrity of the event. Thank you for your understanding.
